My name is Nick Masao. I’m a computer programmer, filmmaker and writer. I created and maintain Reportbase, the online school management software for Tanzanian schools. I started a software development company called Arusha Software in 2008. I’ve been writing software professionally since 2003 and filmmaking as a passion since 1999 and professionally since 2013. I’ve made several documentaries, an action feature film and an action short film. I write, produce, shoot and edit my own stuff, but I can work with others if the content is compelling.

More about my films here.

I am a Microsoft MCP. I hold several certifications including Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD) and Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) .NET Framework.

I’m a full stack software developer, which means I work efficiently at all layers of the application development life-cycle including the server, network and hosting environments, database layer and data modeling, business logic, API layer, Action layer, MVC, User Interface and User Experience and Customer and Business needs analysis.

I’ve made full applications for various fields such as school management, stock and asset management (application runs in three countries and manages thousands of assets), employees online performance appraisal system, construction (system to calculate construction items selling prices based on material costs), food rations ordering and delivery control system, a church management system, a work order and maintenance system, a Members of Parliament (MPs) performance review web application and many many others.

I’ve had the privilege of working with clients like Kisimiri Secondary School, The International School Moshi, The United Nations, Kiure Engineering, Nduma Safaris, Kijenge SDA Church and many others. I’ll be glad to share specific technical details about any of the systems I’ve made mentioned above. Just drop me a line using support@nickmasao.com and send me your questions. Please be nice.

I also have a YouTube channel. Please visit that to see some of my film work. You can subscribe to my blog’s RSS feed or follow me on Google+, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.

All the content and opinions on this website and blog are my own. I blog about software development, technology in general, politics, culture, gadgets, code, the web and other stuff that I find interesting.

I’m always looking for exciting new challenges and projects, so if you need an application built, a film made, help with application architecture or just .NET development in general, please get in touch with me.

Too much info.
